As part of efforts to expand Vipal’s commercial presence in Africa and the Middle East, consolidating its position as a reference for excellence in the market, the company announces its newest hire, Spaniard Alfonso Ibañez. The professional is fluent in three languages – Spanish, English and French – and joins the team of employees at the European subsidiary to cater to customers and the market in these regions, which are strategic for the expansion and consolidation of the company’s business.

Over the past eight years, Ibañez has accumulated solid experience in international marketing in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. During the first five years, he was member of the Export department from a multinational chemical company, focusing on countries such as Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Nigeria, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran, Ivory Coast, and Ghana.

“I am excited about the opportunity to join Vipal, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of tyre retreading rubber, with an established 50-year history. The focus on innovation, sustainability and commitment to comprehensive solutions is deeply appealing to me. I look forward to contributing my skills and experience to the company’s continued success as it continues to expand across the MEA area and to work with the team who have already shared with me their passion for excellence and positive impact on the rubber industry in on a global level,” says Ibañez.

Over the last four years, the Spaniard has dedicated his efforts especially to the Maghreb, in the Northwest of Africa, where he simultaneously managed two branches, Morocco and Algeria. “During this period, my main goal was to deepen our business network in the region and develop a local team, implementing effective strategies for growth and sustained success in the Maghreb market,” he says.

For Frederico Schmidt, General Manager of Vipal in Europe, hiring Ibañez stresses the company’s conviction to expand and strengthen its presence in the markets in which it operates, consolidating its position as a reference in excellence in the market. “We are very excited to welcome Alfonso to our team. With his professionalism and wealth of experience, we are well-positioned to continually excel in providing top-notch products and services,” states Schmidt.
