We started our journey manufacturing products for tyre repairs and today, 50 years later, we are one of the largest rubber manufacturers in the world.

Today, we also offer products for industry and manufactures machinery for retreading commercial and agriculture tyres, always seeking complete solutions with our own technology.

Vipal in Europe and around the world is responsible for supplying around 90 countries on all continents, with Europe, Latin America and the United States being the main markets. Vipal Europe’s headquarters is located in Valencia - Spain, counting with distribution centers in England, Slovenia and Spain.

To meet specific needs, which range from technical requirements to cultural, geographic and legal differences, the company invests in the development of products to improve performance in wide range of applications. Moreover, permanent regional teams at strategic locations have kept Vipal in a prominent position in the European market.

Where it all began

Before creating Vipal Rubber, Vicencio Paludo started out as a partner in a gas station. Through daily contact with those who live on the road, he began to envision a new path to forge in the rubber market.

1964

OPPORTUNITY SPOTTING

The disposal of tyres in good condition cought Vicencio's attention, becoming an opportunity in the hands of the company's founder: three tyre retreading machines were purchased to breathe new life into used tyres. Vipal Rubber's seed was planted.


1970

THE FIRST PRODUCTS

At the time, tyre repair products were difficult to access, as they had to be imported. Bringing good experience from the field, Vicencio knew what nedded to be done to ensure a quality repair. He began producing them and gradually, the excellence of the repairs gained prominence in the region.


1973

INDUSTRIAL UNIT NUMBER 1

The first Brazilian industrial unit to make cold cure repairs for tyres and inner tubes is established in Nova Prata (RS).

1986

Hot cure retreading

Launch of the camelback line marks a new relationship between Vipal Rubber and partners living on the road. Vipal began the manufacture of tyre retreading products using the hot cure.

1987

TECHNICAL TRAINING

Opening of the Vipal Technical Center (CTV) is a crucial step in the growth of Vipal Rubber. The school starts with the goal of training skilled labor for the tyre retreading industry.

1988

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

In order to minimize the environmental impacts of the manufacturing activities, the Environmental Management System is deployed - a sustainability program that is now in place all across Vipal Rubber.

1991

COLD CURE RETREADING

Launching of the precured tread line, cushion gum and envelope. It marks a new moment for the company. It is the beginning of the manufacturing for the precured retreading method. Vipal becomes the only company to offer a complete line of tyre retreading and repairing products.

1995

CERTIFICATION AND QUALITY

Vipal Rubber becomes the first company in the tyre and tube retread industry to achieve the ISO 9002 certification.

1998

INDUSTRIAL UNIT number 2

Vipal opens its second industrial unit site in Nova Prata/RS, Brazil, significantly expanding its production capacity.

1999

EXCLUSIVE DESIGNS

The first precured treads with proprietary designs are launched, conceived to ensure the best performance from every type of tyre.

2002

MULTIBRAND MARKET ENTRY

The acquisition of Ruzi, a well-known name in the retread market, leverages the development of precured treads and other products.


2003

QUALITY CERTIFICATION

Acquisition of another quality certification: INMETRO/IFBQ. 

2005

APPROACHING THE AGRICULTURAL MARKET

Vipal selects a group of retreaders and creates the Agribusiness Project, which brings Vipal even closer to agribusiness. In addition to high quality products for agricultural tyre retread, it began offering technical support to the retreader and customers through a highly qualified team that closely monitors tyre performance.

2006

INVESTMENT IN TECHNOLOGY

Opening of Vipaltec. A company that counts on a high technology laboratory for research & development, testing new and retreaded tyres.

2008

Industrial Expansion in Brazil

Inauguration of the industrial unit in Feira de Santana, Bahia, Brazil. Located in an area of 608 thousand m², with 62 thousand m² of built area, the manufacturing plant carries Vipal's Sustainable DNA. 

 

Today, it is considered one of the most modern rubber industrial unit in the world and is responsible to produce precured treads and motorcycle tyres.

2009

ECO TREADS LAUNCHING

Launch of Vipal’s green product line. The Eco Treads ensure up to 10% fuel savings, reducing environmental impact and lowering fleet costs.

2016

RETREADING EQUIPMENT PRODUCTION

Launch of the VR01 Smart Uno and Duo tyre buffers marks the company’s entrance in the manufacture of machines and equipment for tyre retread.

2017

QUALITY

Achievement of ISO 9001:2015 certification.

2018

RETREADING EQUIPMENT PRODUCTION

Vipal Rubber expands its machinery portfolio entering the agricultural OTR segment with the orbitread VOT2200 Heavy Duty and launching its first extruder, the orbicushion VOC760 machine.

2020

OPENING OF THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL INDUSTRIAL UNIT

Vipal Rubber opens its fourth industrial unit in Perez, Argentina, aiming to serve the global tyre retreading market more effeciently.

2023

Supply of Original Equipment for Motorcycle Tyres

Beginning of the tyre supply to one of Brazil's largest motorcycle manufacturers, as an original factory component, following numerous durability, safety, resistance and performance tests. 

2024

Commercial Tyres

Vipal is taking another step forward in the transport chain by consolidating the Vipal Full Cycle concept and presenting its line of new radial tyres for the commercial tyre segment. Combined with its already renowned portfolio of tyre retreading and repair products, the company is reinforcing its commitment to providing a complete solution for the life cycle of tyres. Economical and sustainable, this cycle guarantees a 100% Brazilian tyre that delivers robustness and excellent mileage costs, maximising its first life and subsequent retreads.
