Vipal Rubber is the leader in commercial tyre retreading in Latin America and received double recognition at the Largest in Transport & Best in Transport 2023 awards, one of the most prestigious events in the Brazilian sector. The company was honoured as Best in Transport 2023 - Manufacturing Sector, a distinction reserved for the top four companies in each sector. Additionally, Vipal secured victory in the Tyre Retreading and Supplies category.

The awards ceremony took place in São Paulo on November 28, 2023. During the event, the 36th edition of the Largest in Transport & Best in Transport 2023 yearbook was also launched.

Ivanir Canevese, the National Manager for the Vipal Authorised Network, received the Tyre Retreading and Supplies award. The Best in Transport – Manufacturing Sector award, that was accepted by Caio Castro de Miranda, Investor Relations Director at Vipal Rubber.

“We are delighted and proud to receive these two trophies from awards that set the standard for the sector in Brazil”, said Canevese. Miranda added, “While it’s not the first time we have been among the winners, this moment is undoubtedly more special as it represents a remarkable achievement in the year we celebrate five decades of the company”.

The following day, the award organisers held the 5th edition of the Sustainable Transport Forum, centred on the theme “Using ESG best practices as the basis for developing business in Transport and Logistics companies”. Julio Ben, a research and development specialist at Vipal, took part in the New Technologies for Sustainable Transport panel, which discussed how innovation could contribute to reducing carbon emissions, increasing efficiency and promoting clean and intelligent mobility.

During this panel, Ben highlighted the importance of tyre retreading in a circular economy and shared some of Vipal’s recent sustainability initiatives, such as compounds and tread designs that reduce rolling resistance, fuel consumption and contaminant emissions; the use of raw materials from 100% renewable sources to manufacture products for tyre retreading, among other sustainable practices.

“We have always heavily invested in innovation and technology, believing that this is one of the secrets to maintaining our company’s continuous development and to creating increasingly efficient, environmentally friendly and advanced products and processes”, stated Canevese.
